How HeightOn repositioned wavemobile to support a founder-led mission to connect the UK’s not-spots
wavemobile had a clear and ambitious goal: eliminate mobile “not-spots” in rural UK using compact, easy-to-deploy mobile tech. With strategic backing from Virgin Media O2, Dragon WiFi and cellXica, and a role in the UK’s national 5G strategy, they were well placed to make a national impact.
What they needed was a brand and digital platform that reflected the scale of their mission – and gave their founder the tools to drive that mission forward.
We delivered a strategic rebrand, refined messaging, and a high-performance website – creating the springboard for wavemobile’s growth.
On Success: the impact of brand transformation
Here’s what has been achieved:
4,019,102 devices served – and growing
39 active sites across the UK
2,811 devices currently online
A recognised part of the UK’s 5G connectivity drive
Trusted by major partners: Virgin Media O2, Dragon WiFi, cellXica
Greater clarity, credibility and digital performance – enabling faster rollout
On the Challenge: enable a brand ready to scale
wavemobile had already developed the technology to deliver 2G and 4G coverage in the UK’s hardest-to-reach areas. What they needed was a brand that reflected the simplicity of their solution, the strength of their partnerships, and the scale of their ambition.
Their website needed a performance and UX overhaul – with technical issues like email delivery failures causing day-to-day friction. A new website design was required to reflect the updated brand and improve digital engagement.
The team knew where they wanted to go. Our job was to give them the tools to get there.
On the Horizon: clarity, credibility and community reach
HeightOn developed a refined brand identity and digital toolkit designed to:
Communicate wavemobile’s offer simply and effectively
Support the founder-led national rollout strategy
Build trust with community stakeholders and public sector partners
Provide a scalable platform for content, insight and user engagement
HeightOn solutions
We delivered a full-spectrum brand and digital refresh:
On the Solution: digital tools for a founder-led push
wavemobile’s rollout strategy was clear and ambitious – empowering communities to host their M3Q base station and access instant mobile coverage. With 2G+4G now available and 5G NR coming soon, the tech was already in motion.
What we provided was a brand and site that told that story with confidence – enabling the founder to push further, faster.
A visual system that made the complex feel simple
A clean, performance-focused website to support adoption
A flexible brand that could grow with the mission
We didn’t drive the adoption. We built the platform that allowed it to happen.
On Scalability: built for growth, trusted to deliver
wavemobile’s progress since launch is testament to a clear mission and strong leadership. The refreshed brand and WordPress website now work in tandem with that mission – helping drive awareness, support, and community activation across the UK.
Their founder continues to lead the charge. We’re proud to have helped build the tools that support his journey.
