Our client commissioned us to develop a robust and secure web application that could manage and store sensitive data and media.

This brief was complicated by the highly data-sensitive sector they worked in. They asked us to take a white label approach to protect their identity and, of course, manage the processing of highly sensitive, critical information throughout. 

Our key challenge was to create a website that ensured high-level data security and confidentiality, while also providing multi-level, multi-lingual, tiered access to global clientele. 

Their list of deliverables was comprehensive and non-negotiable:

• A secure storage system for sharing sensitive data, documents, media, software updates, patches, and fixes.
• A multi-tiered access structure to control data visibility and access.
• Comprehensive penetration testing to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities.
• A seamless user experience through meticulous UX/UI design.
• A white-labelled approach to maintain client confidentiality, where only select team members had access to critical information.
• Extensive training and post-deployment support, including user guides, technical documentation, and ongoing maintenance under a Service Level Agreement (SLA).

A carefully structured project plan

Over 10 months and meeting the deadline agreed with the client, we rose to the challenge of designing and developing a multilingual, secure data store web application, successfully balancing stringent security requirements with a seamless user experience. 

Throughout, we were incredibly careful to ensure data confidentiality while accommodating the specific, complex needs of the client’s international customer base.

Our development process followed a strictly confidential, white-label approach, and we implemented protocols that meant no sensitive client information needed to be disclosed to the development team.

Our process, as always, began with a deep understanding of the client’s brand. In this case, that led to covert development of the project scope and specifications. 

Once we had agreed and signed NDAs, our team embarked on:

• Wire-framing and UX/UI design for the front-end interface.
• Structuring a secure back-end architecture.
• Conducting multiple online consultations with the client to refine the project.
• Robust penetration testing & remedy process.

Once the design and architecture were finalised, we moved to the next phase: a secure development environment for integration and testing. 

The completed solution was then deployed to the client’s production servers. With our user training and comprehensive guidance, they were able to confidently add all their intellectual property and data, ensuring complete confidentiality. 

Admin Front End

We delivered both online and in-person sessions for the front-end CMS system – developed for its ability to provide qualified admin users the ability to manage, maintain, and update all website front-end content, information, media, and menu structure.

The simple-to-use interface gives the user control over entering, adding and editing content throughout the website without the need for styling. All styling is rendered on the front end from predefined templates.

Admin File Store: this file system and structure offers a simple UI for managing and maintaining all sensitive data & IP, including media and software updates.

Post-deployment support

Because of the dynamic nature of the web applications, we also supported implementation and ongoing administration with:

An ongoing Service Level Agreement for regular updates and maintenance of both critical services and feature requests.

Detailed user guides and technical documentation to empower the client’s in-house team.

In-house training for the client’s admin CMS system, ensuring complete control over content and user access.
